LinkedIn in 2026: What's Changed?

If you're in logistics, freight or supply chain and LinkedIn has been sitting at the bottom of your to-do list.. you're not alone. Most businesses in this industry are too busy keeping the world moving to think about their online presence right now.

But a few things have shifted on the platform this year that are genuinely worth five minutes of your time.

The Algorithm Got Smarter, And Harder to Fool

This is the big one.

For years, the name of the game on LinkedIn was getting likes fast. Post something, hope it took off in the first hour, done.

That's changed. LinkedIn now looks at how people actually behave when they see your content, not just whether they tapped a thumbs up.

It tracks things like:

  • Did someone stop scrolling and actually read it?

  • Did they click to see the full post?

  • Did they save it or send it to a colleague?

  • How long did they spend reading the comments?

They're calling it a Depth Score. And it means a post that 50 people genuinely read and saved is now worth more than one that got 200 quick likes from people who barely looked at it.

Video Is Taking Over the Feed

Video on LinkedIn is up 36% year on year. The platform is also pushing video higher in the feed organically meaning you potentially don't need to spend money on paid boosts to get it seen.

You don't need a fancy setup. A minute of someone from your team talking through a challenge they solved, a quick clip from a site visit, or even a straightforward update filmed on a phone will do more for your reach than most graphics.

Supply chain has always done remarkable things without making much noise about it. Video is how you start changing that.

Free Accounts Can Now Only Send 3 Personalised Connection Requests

Worth knowing if your team does any outreach or networking through LinkedIn, which in supply chain is pretty much everyone.

Free accounts are now limited to three personalised connection requests. So blanket outreach is basically dead. A short, genuine message about why you want to connect now matters more than ever.

Verified Company Pages Are Becoming the Norm

LinkedIn has been rolling out verification ticks for Premium Company Pages throughout 2026. In an industry where trust and credibility close deals having a verified page sends a quiet but clear signal before a potential client has even read a word about you.

If you haven't looked into what a Premium Company Page could do for your business, it's worth five minutes of your time.
